Dave Gray

Dave Gray who’s calls Lower Northland home (Waipu) for the last 8 years wanted to create a radio station that "everyone could agree on" and one that was relevant to where he lives. Dave has spent over 25 years within the radio industry working on air at Radio Hauraki, i98 FM and a plethora of other radio stations. Dave was also the co founder of George FM.

Smooth 105.6 is currently New Zealand's ONLY commercial radio station, One that relies 100 % on solar renewable energy for its broadcast studio. Sometimes that can be a wee problem !!

Any way catch Dave weekends on Smooth 105.6.

Jenni Carr

Kia ora! I’m Jenni with an ‘I’ and I’m super excited to be hosting the 9am to 1pm show on Smooth 105.6 FM

I was lucky to stumble into radio with Ngati Hine FM and then progressed through to More FM. I have been the Quiz-Mistress at the Waipu Citizens and Services Club aka The Razza for 7 years where we raise money for various non-profit groups and the community has been fantastic! I have also MC’d many events both local and in Whangarei.

I have been living in Waipu for 20 years with my husband (Canberra Raider fan and lawn mowing partner) ‘PC’ (Paul Carr). We have two awesome daughters Anita and Kasey and the coolest lil woofy called Buddy. I love monkeys, frangipani, sausage rolls and minis. I can’t wait to have fun on air, play some smooth sounds and keep the community up to date with what’s going on in the Bream Bay area.

Alison leonard is one of our more flexible performers, if you ask how flexible? She is likely to do the splits. A strong and versatile voice has found Ali reading the news, doing breakfast radio and recently worked on The Breeze becoming the number one-day time show nationwide for 7 years. She presented Good Morning on TV One, Represented NZ at ballroom dancing and was a judge on Dancing with The Stars. She adores animals and is a self-confessed foodie.  We can't wait for the cookbook. and trying out her recipes.

Adam started working in radio in the deep south in the mid 80s, back in the days when vinyl was still spun. He moved to Auckland to join the Hauraki team in 1987…just in time for the stock market crash and the end of champagne Friday night drinks.

In 1991 he left Hauraki and free lanced for a couple of stations before joining KOOL 93 which eventually evolved into Solid Gold, a network around New Zealand.

He’s had a couple of jobs outside radio, but it has always been his real passion.

When not on the air-waves, you’ll find him on the ocean waves….his other passion and what he calls his “happy place”. Now if he could just find a way to broadcast from a boat his life would be complete.
